Notio was born in Tokyo and came to Los Angeles in 1982. After finishing his studies, he worked as a production artist for a printing company from 1985 to 1988. Between 1988 and 1990 he continued his studies, spending a year at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising
where he developed his skills in interior and display design, and two years at the Pasadena Art Center College of Design studying graphic and package design. Beginning in 1990, Notio worked as a senior designer for The Entertainment Connection, a publishing house. In 1993, he established his own design company, Notion Design, which specialized in creating and enhancing corporate personas through logos and layout. For the last years Notio has begun creating larger art works for display in local galleries.
