Resume:

When I paint I capture the essence of whatever it is that I am painting. I like to explore hidden meanings of my subject matter and look at it on a metaphysical or metaphorical level capturing the depth of its meaning and being. While also noticing different shapes and colors within the subject, pushing to enhance for effect and aiming to come up with an authentic or unique perspective.

With oil paint as my medium of choice, my purpose is to inspire and touch people in a personal way. Creating an experience to be stimulated by any number of senses and to be in the energy of the piece, allowing a feeling of letting go as if entering a different dimension of time and space.

In 1987, I was inspired to create art, starting with colored pencils, pastels, charcoal and then oil paint. I began taking workshops and exploring at home. Then taking continuous fine art classes for 8 years. While doing so I began to do commissions and also to show and sell my work at different exhibitions and galleries. I began helping with the fine art program at Westlake Elementary school in Westlake, California and teaching privately to students out of my home, leading me to teach fine art to children, ages 4 to teenagers for Mission Renaissance studios for 2 years. At present, I am focused on creating new bodies of my artwork.
